Through support-funded visits to refugee camps, human trafficking safe houses and missionary sites I have the opportunity to counsel and educate both staff and volunteers in the context of their mission. Spending time shoulder-to-shoulder with these individuals affords me the opportunity to witness and even participate in their work. This strengthens our relationship while granting insight into their specific stressors and potential secondary trauma. Oftentimes, counseling beyond site visits is deemed beneficial. To meet this need, our sessions continue online at no charge to these heroic, often underfunded individuals. As the challenges of this world increase, so grows the intensity of what these champions face. Consequently, requests for help are steadily increasing! Your financial assistance supports this growing effort to help those in the field remain emotionally strong and confidently equipped to continue their noble work. Thank you for your consideration of these efforts.

Life is full of change. Sometimes we make those changes intentionally but often, change occurs in our lives without our initiation. It is those times when resiliency comes into play. Resilience references one’s ability to recover from or adjust to misfortune or change. It’s easy to feel hopeless as we observe those to whom it comes naturally, but it’s important to know that resilience skills can be learned!
